Our Story
Devchem started in 2006, with the idea of producing emulsion polymers. Due to unforeseen circumstances needed to be mothball. Then in 2011, we were able to acquire the technical expertise to restart the project. At that time, we had a 2 ton reactor, but funding was short. We started manufacturing corners and acrylic sealant to build up funds. After some time, we were able to build enough funds to upgrade our plant. We then started manufacturing our own polymer for the use of manufacturing our own corners and acrylic sealant. |
Some other manufacturers found out about us and requested to start supply them with a product specifically for coatings. At that that time we also start research on a HASE Thickener, we were able to complete that project two years later. This product was sent to independent labs and found to be an exceptionally good product and the cost was even better. This kicked off our journey as we were able to acquire 2x 3ton reactors and another 2x 5ton reactors. We are currently in the process of building a new facility that should produce 840ton of water base latex emulsion polymers per month.
These products are used in a whole host of applications, such as dust settling for agricultural and mining, soil stabilization in construction and binders in coatings and rheology modifiers in cosmetics and hand sanitizers.
The Devchem family has grown from 3 personnel to 25 personnel over the last nine years.
